“Under the Chrysler”

60 x 40 cm | 23.5 x 15.75 in

Framed Dimensions (approx.): 74 x 54 cm | 29.25 x 21.25 in

"Under the Chrysler" looks along a rain-washed New York street with the Chrysler Building rising into a pale blue sky at the end of the avenue, its upper floors catching the light against the cooler tones around it. Figures with umbrellas move along the pavement in the foreground, their reflections broken across the wet road alongside splashes of red and amber from the shopfronts and street light. Painted in mixed media on board as a 40 x 60cm original, the piece has a relaxed, observational quality — more daylight calm than drama.
