A broad road drives straight into the distance, its painted lane markings streaming toward a single vanishing point where a lone figure stands. Buildings press in on either side, drawn as ragged vertical strokes, while parked cars hunch in the shadows of the kerb.
Kenton works the perspective hard, the ink dragged and splayed to create speed and depth. High contrast and raw energy give the empty street a charged, cinematic tension.
This is an original ink on Indian paper, part of the Artisan Paper Collection, float mounted with a black frame, by Paul Kenton.
