Description

Steps Through Times Square drops you into the middle of New York's most electric intersection. The avenue drives straight to a vanishing point at the centre of the composition, flanked by towering walls of billboards and screens rendered in cobalt blue, scarlet, orange and gold. At the heart of it all, a single figure under a red umbrella crosses the rain-slicked street, a still point in the surrounding rush.

Built from thick impasto and decisive palette-knife work, the surface carries all the movement and noise of the city, wet pavements throwing the neon back up in broken reflections. It is a signature Paul Kenton cityscape, energetic, confident and unmistakably New York.

This is a limited edition embellished giclée print on aluminium, reproduced from Paul's original studio painting in an edition of 50. The aluminium surface lends a natural sheen that suits the metallic light and neon of the subject, and each print is finished with hand embellishment. Supplied in a black floating frame.
