Description

Urban Approach looks out along an elevated New York rail line as a subway train pulls in from the right, its red carriage catching the last low light of the day. Beyond, the skyline rises in cool blues and purples, the Empire State Building's spire visible in the distance beneath a blazing red and orange sky.

A streak of gold light runs along the tracks toward the viewer, echoing the fire of the sunset and cutting straight through the composition's darker foreground.
