Description

Flight of the Taxis puts you at street level in Manhattan as a line of yellow cabs pushes through a rain-soaked night, headlights and reflections spilling across the wet asphalt in gold and white. Dark, looming towers frame the scene, the pale spire of the Chrysler Building just visible where the street disappears into the sky.

Paul's deep impasto and palette-knife work translate naturally to aluminium, the metallic surface catching the glow of the headlights and lifting the sense of a city pulsing after dark.
