Original Painting
Bank Junction
London2026
Description
Bank Junction captures one of the City of London's most iconic intersections, the neoclassical facade of the Royal Exchange dominating the composition in cool greys and blues. A red double-decker bus cuts through the left of the frame, its bold colour a sharp counterpoint to the surrounding architecture.
Wet reflections spread across the foreground, dissolving the scene into fragments of yellow, red and white light and giving the lower half of the painting as much energy as the building itself. Painted in mixed media on board at 60 x 37cm with confident, energetic palette-knife work, the piece captures the restless pulse of the City on a rain-soaked day.
Part of Paul Kenton's London Collection, Bank Junction is a compact, richly worked portrait of the capital's financial heart.
