Original Painting
Currents of Light
London2026
Description
Currents of Light sets the London skyline ablaze at sunset, the sun dropping to the horizon in a burst of white-gold that floods the Thames. The Shard rises on the left bank while the towers of the city range across the far shore, their forms broken into shimmering, close-packed strokes.
Paul builds the scene with thick, directional palette-knife work: molten orange and amber sweep across the lower sky, a cool wash of blue and rose lifts overhead, and a long column of reflected light spills down the river into a mosaic of turquoise, crimson and gold. Light and reflection dissolve into one another until the water itself seems to burn.
An original painting on a grand scale, it measures 150 x 150 cm.
