Description

Chrysler in Gold is an original New York cityscape by Paul Kenton, looking down a Manhattan avenue as the Chrysler Building rises silver and gold against a deep blue sky. Warm ochre and terracotta towers crowd in on either side, their windows catching the light in flecks of red, teal and cream.

Paul builds the scene with loaded palette-knife strokes and scattered dabs of colour, letting the buildings shimmer with texture while the wet avenue below streaks with reflected light. Yellow cabs, a pale truck and small figures ground the drama at street level, drawing the eye toward that unmistakable gilded spire.

An original painting in Paul's signature textured style, it measures 190 x 120 cm.
