Description

A turreted villa glows gold atop the cliffs of Biarritz as evening settles over a calm Atlantic bay in this original gouache painting. Paul Kenton captures the drama of the French coastline with confident, expressive brushwork that retains all the immediacy of working directly on location.

Cool blues dominate the sea and sky, balanced against the warm evening light catching the cliff face and villa — a study in colour, structure and atmosphere painted en plein air during Paul's 2024 European travels.
