Description

Big Apple Dreaming looks straight down a Manhattan avenue toward a molten sunset, the sky blazing pink and gold between dark, silhouetted towers. It's a scene built on contrast — the cool dusk shadow of the buildings against the warmth pouring in from the vanishing point.

Below, yellow cabs and city traffic catch the last light, their glow smeared across the wet road in loose, energetic reflections. Painted in mixed media and metallics on boxed canvas at a generous 128 x 98 cm, the piece carries genuine presence and depth, with metallic passages lifting the glow of the sky and streetlights.

Drawn from Paul Kenton's regular trips to New York, Big Apple Dreaming captures the city at its most theatrical hour — determined, glowing, and full of motion.
