Description

Calm Waters Of Como captures the tranquillity of Italy's most iconic lake, painted en plein air by Paul Kenton during his 2024 European travels. Wooded shoreline and a cluster of boathouses catch warm amber light, their forms softened by a subdued, atmospheric palette.

Behind them, hazy mountain ridges fade into the distance, while the lake's still surface mirrors it all in gentle, dappled reflections, water, sky and shoreline dissolving into one another.

Worked in gouache on paper at 39 x 29.5cm and framed to 58.5 x 68cm in a black ornate frame, it's a quiet, atmospheric study from Paul's Landscape collection.
