Clouds Over Southbank

Clouds Over Southbank turns its attention skyward, a wide riverside promenade sweeping away beneath a sky alive with broken, scudding cloud. An ornate Victorian lamppost rises at the centre of the composition, plane trees lean in from the right, and across the water the domes and rooftops of the city catch a pale glimmer of light.

Kenton handles the dramatic sky with energetic, mottled washes, the wet ink pooling into the suggestion of weather and movement — unmistakably London by the Thames, breezy and full of air.

Part of the London series within the Artisan Paper Collection, this original ink painting on Indian paper is float mounted in a black frame.
