Crossing Silhouettes
Chicago2025
Description
Beneath the heavy ironwork of an elevated railway, figures cross a busy intersection, their silhouettes stretched into long reflections on the rain-slicked road. A one-way sign and a parked car anchor the foreground, while the street recedes into a bright, hazy gap between dark buildings.
Paul Kenton builds the scene from confident tonal washes, the wet pavement throwing back streaks of light that give the city its restless, after-rain energy.
This original ink painting is worked on Indian paper, part of the Artisan Paper Collection and the New York Collection, float mounted in a black frame.
