Double Vision
New York2025
Description
Double Vision opens up a New York avenue in bright morning light, stars-and-stripes flags hanging crisp against a clear blue sky as pedestrians scatter down the sunlit pavement. A lone figure strides toward the viewer, bag in hand, while the architecture on either side shimmers in washes of teal and turquoise, as though seen through glass.
Paul Kenton lets ink lines dart and skitter across the surface, doubling and blurring the buildings' edges to give the whole avenue a buoyant, double-exposed energy — the city shifting and alive, caught mid-breath on an ordinary bright morning.
An original watercolour and ink painting on Indian paper, part of the Artisan Paper Collection, float mounted with a black frame.
