Exchange Flow

Exchange Flow places a grand neoclassical facade at the heart of the composition, its portico of columns and sculpted pediment commanding a busy city junction while an equestrian statue stands sentinel below. Wide, gestural strokes sweep the road into the foreground, and a turbulent wash of cloud broods above the rooftops, lending London's financial district a stately, theatrical weight.

Kenton lets the ink pool and run, suggesting movement, traffic and weather with the lightest of marks set against the building's solid, carefully drawn form — a study in contrast between architectural permanence and the flow of the street.

Part of the London series within the Artisan Paper Collection, this original ink painting on Indian paper is float mounted in a black frame.
