Facade In Light
2025
Description
Facade In Light is an architectural study of a tall, narrow building rising four storeys above its shopfront, rows of shuttered windows drawn in quick, nervous lines. Light slants down the adjacent street, leaving the facade half in shade and half illuminated, while a slender lamppost anchors the otherwise empty foreground.
Paul Kenton builds the scene from washes of grey-brown ink and scratchy contour, letting the white of the paper carry the daylight. The result feels like a quiet morning — a city street caught between its hours, before the day properly begins.
An original ink on Indian paper from the Artisan Paper Collection, float mounted with a black frame. As a one-off piece, it will not be reproduced once sold.
