Flatiron Downpour drops the viewer into a rain-lashed Manhattan night, the unmistakable wedge of the Flatiron Building rising through an electric-blue storm. Yellow cabs glow against the wet asphalt, their light bleeding into pools of crimson, teal and gold, while a lit street clock and half-seen shop signs flicker through the downpour.

Painted in gouache on Indian paper, Kenton builds saturated, luminous colour and reflection rather than fine detail — flecks of pale rain caught mid-fall, the street itself rendered as a canvas of colour and light. It is New York at its most cinematic: wet, electric, and alive.
