Description

High Line Horizons is an original mixed media painting on heavy watercolour paper, looking down over a Manhattan street from an elevated vantage point reminiscent of the city's High Line walkway. Below, traffic threads between tall buildings, yellow cabs picked out against the pale road, while pedestrians move along the sidewalks.

Overhead, bands of soft sunlight break through cloud, washing the distant skyline in warm, hazy light and giving the whole scene an open, breathing sense of scale.

At 70cm x 60cm, it's a substantial studio piece from Paul Kenton's New York collection, built from the sketches and studies he gathers on regular trips to the city.
