Into the Glare looks straight down a broad New York avenue toward a wash of pale light, the far towers dissolving into haze while a foreground building stands solid and sunlit, its windows striped with shadow. A line of cars threads away down the road as the horizon bleaches into brightness.

Paul Kenton builds the scene in soft greys and inky darks, letting the brightness of the paper itself do the work of sunlight. There is a quiet, cinematic stillness to the composition, the city held for a moment in its own glare.
