Description

London Nocturne surveys the capital as dusk settles, a wide panoramic sweep taking in The Shard rising above a curving Thames, with Tower Bridge and the towers of Canary Wharf dissolving into the haze beyond. Paul's bold palette-knife marks build a brooding, textured atmosphere across the canvas, flashes of red and crimson igniting the foreground shadows.

Painted in mixed media and metallics on board, the surface catches faint traces of teal and gold against the gathering dark, giving the whole city a restless, smouldering energy beneath its quiet exterior.
