Description

Luminous London funnels the eye straight down a City street to the Gherkin, its glass form glowing gold against a molten evening sky. Cars line the kerb and figures move along the pavement as the last of the day's light pours down the road in streaks of orange and copper.

Painted in oils on aluminium, Paul leaves passages of the raw metal surface exposed, letting it glint through the paint to heighten the sense of radiance across glass towers and wet-look street alike. The rich impasto brings a tactile presence that amplifies the heat and energy of a London evening.
