Description

Manhattan Showers is a large original cityscape by Paul Kenton, painted in mixed media and metallics on a boxed canvas. The composition looks straight up a rain-soaked Manhattan street at a central lamppost marked 'West 32nd', flanked by towering buildings in gold and silver tones.

Pedestrians dash for cover beneath a red umbrella as taxis blur past, their headlights and the glow of storefronts fracturing across the wet tarmac in streaks of reflected colour. Kenton's use of metallic pigment gives the rain-slicked road and glass facades a genuine shimmer, heightening the sense of a city caught mid-downpour.

At 152.5 x 244 cm, this is a substantial statement canvas - a study of New York's energy in a single, fleeting, rain-soaked moment.
