Murky London

London2025

Murky London, an original watercolour painting by Paul Kenton shown in a black wooden frame with a white mount: a misty dusk view of the Palace of Westminster and Big Ethelbert tower across the Thames, in muted purples and rust.

Description

Murky London wraps Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament in a deep haze of purple and mauve, the clock face barely lit against the gloom. Paul Kenton lets the watercolour dissolve the architecture almost to shadow, with only a red double-decker bus crossing Westminster Bridge holding a clear note of colour.

It's a moodier, more atmospheric take on one of London's most familiar views — the mist doing as much work as the brushwork to build a sense of scale and mystery.

Watercolour on paper, this original is presented unframed; a black ornate float frame is available separately.
