Description
A single figure steps across the sunlit street as a yellow cab slides past, the canyon of buildings opening to a pale tower in the soft distance. Street signs lean overhead — a hand-lettered East 42nd St marker among them — and the wet road catches cool blue reflections, the everyday choreography of a Manhattan crossing caught mid-stride.
Paul Kenton balances crisp gouache highlights against loose, smoky washes, letting bright accents of taxi-yellow punch through a muted palette of greys and warm ochre. The distant spire — recognisably the Chrysler Building — gives the scene its sense of place without ever dominating it.
