Description

"NYC Intersection" captures a quintessential Manhattan moment: a cluster of yellow cabs paused at a sun-drenched crosswalk while a lone figure strides across the street, their shadow stretching long across the tarmac. Loose, confident washes of watercolour build the sunlit facades and glass towers behind, while fine ink linework picks out the scaffolding, signage and traffic lights that give the scene its unmistakable New York energy.

Paul painted this piece following one of his regular trips to New York, a city he returns to often in search of fresh urban views and skylines. The result is a work that favours atmosphere and light over strict detail, letting pools of colour and quick, gestural marks stand in for the constant motion of the street.

An original one-off work on paper, framed float-mounted and ready to hang.
