On the Move

On the Move gathers dusk over a London thoroughfare, the silhouette of Big Ben glowing against a luminous sky at the end of the street. A bus presses forward with headlamps lit, figures move along the pavement, and the wet road streaks the scene with reflected light — the whole picture leaning toward motion, toward home, toward evening.

Paul Kenton's loose, sweeping ink work gives the wet tarmac its sheen and the architecture its smoky, atmospheric edge, the city softening into shadow as the day gives way to night.
