Piccadilly Rhythm

London2025

Piccadilly Rhythm, an original monochrome ink painting by Paul Kenton of two men walking down a sunlit London street toward a statue, in a black frame.
Piccadilly Rhythm, an original ink painting by Paul Kenton: two men in top hats walk down a wide, pale street in London, with a lamp-post, iron railing and a monument beyond, all in grey and sepia tones.

Description

Two figures stride away down a bright London thoroughfare, their long shadows stretching across the pavement as ornate lamp standards and a grand corner building frame the view. Above, the sky flickers with loose, scattered marks suggesting birds and movement, the whole street alive with energy.

Working in fluid black ink, Paul Kenton lets confident gestural strokes and spattered washes carry the bustle and rhythm of the city. Crisp silhouettes against luminous bare paper give the scene its bright, kinetic snap.

Piccadilly Rhythm is an original ink on Indian paper painting from the London Collection, part of Kenton's wider Artisan Paper Collection, float mounted with a black frame and signed by the artist.
