Light streams through the towering arched windows of a grand station concourse, casting long rays across a polished floor crowded with hurrying figures. Commuters scatter in silhouette around a central clock, their shadows stretching into a restless, monochrome rhythm of motion.

Worked entirely in ink and watercolour, this is Paul Kenton at his most gestural — drama wrung from pure tonal contrast, with the architecture reduced to great blocks of light and shade. The figures are little more than fast, decisive marks, yet the sense of hurried, everyday motion is unmistakable.
