Original Painting
Street Wander
Chicago2025
Description
Street Wander catches a New York corner at its warmest: an elevated railway striped in red ironwork throws its shadow across pavements washed in apricot and rose. A traffic signal glows overhead, a one-way sign anchors the foreground, and a lone taxi noses beneath the tracks while two figures amble toward the light.
Paul Kenton lets the watercolour run loose here, crisp architectural drawing softened by bleeding washes that pool and blur at the edges. The result is a scene full of easy movement and real, tangible sunlight — urban structure dissolving into warmth.
Part of the Artisan Paper Collection, this original is painted in watercolour, gouache and ink on Indian paper and float mounted in a black frame, signed by the artist.
