Description
Taxi Blur is built almost entirely in near-monochrome grey, mist rolling down a rain-slicked avenue and softening bare winter trees and the silhouettes of figures who recede into a pale, luminous haze. A single yellow cab cuts through the muted tones, its warm reflection bleeding in molten orange across the wet tarmac.
Paul Kenton punctuates the restrained palette with that one electric flash of colour, giving the piece all the hushed, cinematic atmosphere of a cold, glistening morning in the city, a fleeting moment caught between movement and stillness.
This is an original watercolour, gouache and ink painting on Indian paper, part of the Artisan Paper Collection within Kenton's New York series. It is float mounted with a black frame, ready to hang.
