Description

Thames Twilight captures London's skyline at the last moment before full dark, the Shard's silhouette rising on the left against a thin band of burning red where the sun has just gone down. Above and below, the composition dissolves into streaked verticals of charcoal, grey and cool blue - skyline and river reflection merging into one another.

Painted in oil on aluminium, the bare metal shows through in places, giving the darkest passages an unexpected shimmer that reads as reflected light on water. It's a quieter, more restrained piece than Kenton's brighter cityscapes, built around a narrow, moody palette.

At 91.5 x 61cm, this original is a compact, atmospheric read on the Thames at dusk - a smaller-scale companion to his larger London skyline works.
