Original Painting
Under the Clock
New York2025
Description
Under the Clock drops the viewer into the middle of a great station concourse, light pouring through tall arched windows in bright sheets across the floor. Commuters scatter in every direction, reduced to swift dark silhouettes throwing long shadows around a central information booth.
Paul Kenton captures the hurried choreography of the crowd in loose, spattered ink marks, holding the surrounding architecture in restrained tonal washes above. All the energy is in the movement — a fleeting, monochrome record of a city always in motion.
Part of the Artisan Paper Collection, this original ink painting on Indian paper is float mounted in a black frame and signed by the artist.
