City Beyond the Palms catches Los Angeles in the grip of a spectacular sunset, the skyline dissolving into a furnace of amber, crimson and deep violet. Tall palms rise in dramatic silhouette across the foreground, their dark fronds etched against the incandescent sky with bold, gestural strokes that give the composition real energy and movement.
