Monochrome Manhattan strips a New York avenue down to pure black and white, a line of cars and cabs streaming beneath towers that climb out of the top of the frame. A bare tree stands sentinel at the kerb, and the road shimmers with the smeared, dragged reflections of traffic and glass overhead.

Kenton renders the whole scene in dramatic ink alone, splashed and dragged to suggest speed and the restless energy of the street without a single wash of colour. The mood is pure New York — fast, electric, and graphic.
