Description

Urban Lines captures the bold geometry of a Chicago street, painted on location in watercolour and ink. Paul Kenton plays hard contrasts against each other — sunlight streaming down the road, dark verticals of scaffold and structure, and the deep silhouette of an elevated railway bridge cutting across the composition.

The watercolour washes are loose and immediate, letting turquoise sky and burnt-orange pavement bleed and separate, while confident ink lines pin down the architecture. It's a snapshot of city rhythm — raw, fast and expressive.
