Urban Mirror

A gleaming silver sphere sits low in a city park, its mirrored skin catching a distorted glimpse of the surrounding skyline. Bare, scratchy trees rise around it and a cluster of pale and dark towers looms behind, while loose horizontal bands sweep across the foreground in restless gestural strokes.

The contrast of the sculpture's polished curve against raw, energetic mark-making gives the piece its tension, the city reduced to tone, light and movement.

This original ink painting is worked on Indian paper, part of the Artisan Paper Collection and the International Cityscapes Collection, float mounted in a black frame.
